BURNING THE MIDNIGHT

Life has serve me with its ups and downs. I wish the only ups and downs I would ever have to do is push-ups. Hell, I can't remember the last time I did any. I made a New Year's Resolution that I would write once a week or everyday. I can't remember. I think I already mentioned this before. Well, that's what happens to you when you get past your prime. I'm just glad that I wake up everyday. Sometimes, I just want to stay asleep. My dreams are so much better than my reality. But, I do look forward to waking up to a mug of Folgers. And the mouth-watering aroma of chorizo and eggs. I feel that I've done a complete circle and went back to my childhood. The aromas and sounds that surround me, remind me of how it was when I was just a little boy. It's nice. I hope that the days and years to come will be better than what I've experience in the past. That's another thing. I don't worry so much about how things should be or how they could be. "I just take things in stride, and just enjoy the ride." All I ever have to be concerned about is what I am doing.... at the present moment.

FREAKY FRIDAY

It's been years since I last went out on Friday the 13th. As a matter of fact, it was one of my favorite and luckiest of days. This past 13th (wasn't and was ) what I expected actually I didn't expect anything that happened that night. I had many errands to run and it almost seemed as if I wasn't going to be able to go out. I was about to change my mind when the babysitter told us that it is tonight or nothing, because she wasn't going to be available for awhile. So, off we went. First, I had to get a pair of pants because I didn't have anything clean and she got herself a pair of jeans and a blouse. Laundry.... Anyways, we went out for dinner at Applebee's to have their New York Steak Strip. It wasn't as good as the first time. The appetizer was great! We recommend the boneless buffalo wings. The merlot was fair. After dinner we weren't sure what club to hit. I wanted to stay close to home. But, we live in the ghetto...so are the clubs. Hollywood it is. It was so jammin' fun that we stayed until closing or close to it. The clubs close at 5am. I'm getting old, cuz I kept asking her if she wanted to go home. And she kept saying no. She wanted to get her moneys worth. Anyways, it was my birthday gift and it was a gift never to forget. Let's say, what goes on in Hollywood stays in Hollywood.

TIME....IS OF THE ESSENCE

"Time is of the essence," my ninth grade pre-algebra teacher would always quote this in class. I never knew what it meant at the TIME. Now, I know what he was talking about. As I've been getting older, TIME has been flying like there's no tomorrow. I can't believe the last time I posted a blog was almost three months ago. I had made a New Year's Resolution to posted something everyday. My excuse is that my "cum puta" was h-ackting up. Things have picked up since last year and especially from two years ago, as matter of fact it has been almost three years ago that my life made a turn towards HELL. Well, since I've been on the "Highway to Hell" things have been Heavenly. I could only HOPE that things get lovelier. I use to think about quitting my job and going on the road. Just get on my HOG and never looking back. Just one thing went wrong, I wrecked it. Good thing though. Now, I'm living in the ghetto and things are grand. How, ironic. I've owned two homes, had two wives and two children that I never get to see or hear from. I thought I had it good. "Living it up on the Eastside" I had a piece of the Pie. Now, I'm on the Westside, where all my people pay their food with food stamps and buy their Air Jordans and the swapmeet, I'm living like a King. I have LOVE, RESPECT AND HONOR.
